NASW-NC former Board of Directors President Tanya Roberts has been appointed to the NASW Political Action for Candidate Election (PACE) Board of Trustees.
Political Action for Candidate Election (PACE) is the political action arm of the National Association of Social Workers. As a political action committee, PACE endorses and financially contributes to candidates from any party who support NASW’s policy agenda. The national PACE Board of Trustees endorses and contributes to federal candidates running for U.S. House and Senate seats; state chapter PACE units decide on local and state races.
Tanya is one of only seven Trustees to serve on PACE and she represents the South Region of NASW.
Tanya Roberts earned a Masters in Social Work from East Carolina University in 1994 and for about six years she owned Dimensions Healthcare, LLC providing mentors to people with mental health and developmental disorders. In the last several years, Tanya has served on the NASW-NC Board of Directors, including serving as President (2010-2012) and is now the Chair of the Membership Committee. She is a graduate of the Institute of Political Leadership, The White House Project and the NC Women in Public Service – Women in Office Institute. Tanya is now the Vice Chair for the Craven County Department of Social Services Board, a candidate for the Craven County Board of Education, District 5 and is the Project Coordinator for Operation Medicine Cabinet, NC.
