NC Election Results

Yesterday’s election results shocked many across the state with several powerful legislators being unseated or barely winning their districts. North Carolina had some very competitive, very expensive races. Our own US Senate race between Senator Kay Hagan and Speaker Thom Tillis was recorded as the most expensive race in the country.

This year, our PACE Committee endorsed 22 Candidates. We had 15 wins and 6 losses. One race is still undecided due to close results. See who won and who lost on our endorsement list!

NASW-NC’s PACE Committee makes endorsements to candidates with strong social work values. We work across party lines to promote and enhance the social work profession. The committee is comprised of NASW-NC members across the state who work in direct practice, macro practice, and other social work settings. These members spend time reviewing races, talking to candidates, selecting candidates who support the profession to endorse, and working with endorsed candidates as they seek office. NASW-NC looks forward to working with all legislators to promote and strengthen the social work profession as a member benefit.
