May 6th Primary Election will be the FIRST chance NC voters have to go to the polls following the significant Election Reform done during the 2013 legislative session. The primaries are a really important place to exercise your right to vote as an NC citizen. And we want you to be aware of the changes before it’s too late for you to vote!
Summary of NC’s New Voting Laws
This year, people will no longer be allowed to register to vote during the one-stop voting period.
The deadline to register to vote is Friday, April 11th by 5:00 pm!
Tuesday, April 29th is the LAST day to request an absentee ballot by mail.
Key Election Dates for NC Primary 2014
One stop early voting begins Thursday, April 24th and runs through Saturday, May 3rd. Please check the Early Voting Sites in your county before voting early as some sites may have different hours of operation this year!
If you are NOT voting early, polls will open on Tuesday, May 6th from 6:30am to 7:30pm.
Voters will not be required to present a photo ID during the 2014 elections.
