NASW-NC would like to introduce you to the 2013-2014 NASW-NC Board of Directors.

Tanisha James, MSW, LCSW
South Central District Representative (2012-2014)
When asked why she chose social work as her profession, Tanisha responded:
- mentors
- drive and determination
- desire to help others
- desire to see change
- desire to have a voice and help others share theirs
- seek peace & harmony despite dysfunctions in systems
- desire to be a part of something bigger than me
- asking questions
- accepting feedback
- because children needed a voice
- because justice should be important to us all
- interest in psychology
- desire to give back
- desire to understand and treat mental illness
- early on, I learned that despite all the sadness and hardship in the world, everyone deserves a chance to have something to smile about
Tanisha is also the co-chair for the NASW-NC Fayetteville Local Program Unit.
