A day before temporary funding runs out for group home residents, the House plans to extend money for the state to cover citizens in group homes. House bill 5 will be heard this morning in House Appropriations. It will then go to the floor. Bill sponsors are more worried about the Senate not taking action soon enough. NASW-NC is SUPPORTIVE of this legislation.
Contact Senator Phil Berger, President Pro Tempore of the NC Senate Phil.Berger@ncleg.net, Rep. Thom Tillis, Thom.Tillis@ncleg.net Speaker of the NC House of Representatives and ask them to pass House Bill 5 to provide revenue that Group Homes will lose as a result of the personal care services (PCS) changes made in the last session of the Legislature.
